Since its formation in 1949, CABLO Metall-Recycling und Handel GmbH has specialised in the separation of metal and plastic, in particular in the recycling of cable production waste and cable scrap. Trade in all types of metal scrap is another business line.

With an annual processing capacity of some 30,000 tonnes, CABLO is one of the largest providers of cable recycling services in Europe. As a 100% subsidiary of Aurubis AG, Hamburg, CABLO is part of an integrated metal group which achieves a total output of about 1 million tonnes of copper products per annum. CABLO is therefore part of the largest copper recycling enterprise worldwide.

The services CABLO provides close material cycles fully and long-term since it supplies the cable industry with the recycled raw materials in a useable form such as copper cathodes, copper wire rod or conducting aluminium.

In addition to its recycling activities, CABLO supplies new copper in the form of clippings and cathode cuttings for the electroplating, rotogravure and chemical industries. These are produced from Aurubis preliminary products.

Both of CABLO’s production sites – Fehrbellin/Brandenburg and Strass/Bavaria – are located in the heart of Europe, thus in the second largest copper market in the world.

CABLO currently has some 52 employees working in its highly automated recycling facilities and at its administrative headquarters.
